faraway reach casts classixxs young-but-nostalgic melodies and sublime chords in a more mature, restrained light, albeit no less lively and bright. establishing themselves as producers of note on their debut lp (pitchfork called them great songwriters, too), faraway reach delivers powerfully smooth and soulful jewels that are still decidedly their own - the classixx signature is one that cant be traced. their love of plaintive voices and disco-inspired grooves is as evident as ever, but this time around everything is a bit bolder, the cast is bigger, the melodies distilled into a higher potency - its all just as good, but better. on the first record, we wanted to include only people that were our friends, and have it be really personal david begins, a thought blake finishes: this time we wanted to make a record with a lot of different kinds of vocals, to see if we could be the common thread. the album traverses locales, vocalists and inspirations. it s a fitting movement for the duo, from venice beach to the mountains of south africa and everywhere in between - a faraway reach.

monoton monotonprodukt 02, also known as mp02, is the debut album of austrian electronic maverick konrad becker. out in 1980 it was a precursor of the minimal techno dub sound that was starting to be popular more than 15 years after. the album has been reissued by desire a couple of years ago and a new pressing is in the work. anyway its time to launch a remix ep with new (and not so new) producers giving crédit to the work of the austrian master. on the a side we find 3 new artists paying their dues : sergie rezza, whose debut album out on desire was critically acclaimed, abdulla rashim (abdulla rashim records / northern electronics / semantica) and also opal tapes boss stephen bishop own basic house. the b-side is a great megamix of the album tracks by the one and only ambient/electronica veteran scanner !

originally released in a limited edition of 500 copies in 1982 monotons second album monotonprodukt 07 is now a collector item and also one of the most important album of all-time. it has been voted one of the 100 best records by highly influential uk magazine the wire. monoton was founded in 1979 by hypermedia wizard konrad becker as an art project that underwent various transformations and collaborations in its exploration of psycho-active sound. a pioneer in experimental electronic music, becker continued to break new ground in electronic media. monotonprodukt 07 has been reissued on vinyl by desire (and is still available as a double picture-discs limited to 500 copies. its the first time ever that tracks from the album are remixed and desire is proud to had such great artists/producers as us prositutes, svengalighost with fellow partner and l.i.e.s. boss and hospital productions artist ron morelli. the last remix is the work of great mancunian duo rainer veil (modern love). an incredible remix package that do justice to this classic album ! mastered by matt colton at alchemy.

limitierte wiederveröffentlichung des 1995er albums als 180g schwere vinyl-edition. nach dem moby über nacht mit seinem track go die techno-szene mit einem der großen hits dieser phase versorgte und schnell zwei compilations mit frühwerken des künstlers auf den markt geworfen wurden, sollte everything is wrong sein erstes richtiges album werden. frisch bei dem label mute unter vertrag, zeigte sich moby musikalisch erstaunlich facettenreich. auf der einen seite stehen dancefloor-hymnen wie das überdrehte -feeling so real oder die single every time you touch me, auf der anderen seite überraschte moby mit ambient und filigranem pop. when its cold id like to die mit gast-sängerin mimi goese klingt ganz so als würde moby die frühwerke des labels 4ad (cocteau twins, dead can dance) außerordentlich schätzen. mit dieser varianz nimmt er seinen weiteren werdegang voraus, bei dem er noch häufiger überraschen sollte.

french duo from montreuil (east paris suburbs), prince waly & fiasko proximo are big budha cheez. after several eps and mixtapes, the duo will release is first lp, lheure des loups on april 22nd, 2016. at 23 years old, the duo is recording on analog tapes their daily prose and pose on film rolls their unique néo-rétro style on the french hip-hop landscape. working closely with video maker clifto cream (nekfeu, myth syzer, jazzy bazz, kohndo) with whom they systematically reconsider the current rap game codes with their music, pictures and videos. listenning lheure des loups is a time travel which perfectly illustrate an authentic and original creative process.

last year saw the mysterious garage shelter make their debut appearance on skylax, and little is still known about them! all we know is they are back with some freshness on the skylax classic sublabel. first up is bring back love, a track that will sink its claws in with that infectious vocal sample hook. sticking with the old school sample vibe is the lonely heart dub of attempt, its a bit more mellow but still has plenty of groove in it. friend of the garage shelter, dj la foudre, appears over on the b side with its alright (signal st mix). still on that catchy sample tip, it features one of the grooviest bassline and funky guitar pairings ive heard in a long time. next up, perception 66 is a smooth house affair from yet another friend, asa no hikari. rounding out the package is garage shelters own you (still), a dreamy pad-driven track that may indeed be the pick of the release. while we dont know much about garage shelter, we cant help but look forward to what they come out with next!

paris-based beat x changers brings up to you a new record with a collaborative project in the shape of classic cuts.our new release introduces two new french artists brought together on a split ep: tell from paris and name from the sunny avignon city, both of them backed- up by exclusive remixes from three of our historical beat x producers: neue grafik and pulkone (aka x_1 & monomite). on the a-side, discover tell - a 20-year old jazz drummer - who releases two soulful and melodic tracks. youll recognize the heat of the mpc grain, obsessing samples and uplifting breaks. on the b-side, southern producer name offers a disco-like and funky house music via two dancing tracks with a clear reference to the clubbing universe of new york and chicago. this activist dj and experimented producer he is an ableton teacher on the side gained recognition in the south of france music scene in the last decade and reached the ears of producer kink.grand Écart (i.e. wide gap or split) recalls the time it took to release this ep. its also a geographical gap, a gap between the ideas of the five artists brought together on this release, a gap between our expectations and the reality of some passed or cancelled venues in paris. we have always believed in this project and in our flexibility!
